Fall Color Festival 

Fall is an exciting season at The Morton Arboretum and a favorite time for many who visit. Guests from far and wide are drawn to the Arboretum to savor the magic of the season as the leaves of the Arboretum’s woodlands and global tree collections slowly turn into a rich symphony of color.

Bring your favorite canine to the Arboretum to enjoy the seasonal changes at the upcoming Dog Admission Day on Sunday, November 5.

 

Month-Long Activities in October

Scarecrow Trail

Stroll the path along Meadow Lake to see the friendly faces of the Scarecrow Trail. See scarecrows handmade by local scout troops and schools and cast your vote for the winning designs.

Fall Color Festival Concessions

On Saturday and Sunday, treat yourself to special seasonal concessions available in Arbor Court.

Acorn Express Tram Tours

Hop on the Acorn Express guided tram tour and enjoy a one-hour tour that winds you through the changing colors of the Arboretum’s woodlands and tree collections.

Past Events

Fall Color Wine Tasting

On Thursday, September 28, guests were invited to sip and sample local wines during the Fall Color Wine Tasting. Vendors were located throughout Arbor Court and in the Arboretum’s newest attraction, The Gerard T. Donnelly Grand Garden.

Fall Color 5K Run and Walk

Fall running season kicked off with the annual Fall Color 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, October 7. Participants followed a scenic, rolling course through the woodlands of the Arboretum’s East Side.

Glass Pumpkin Patch

Visitors enjoyed a marvelous market filled with one-of-a-kind glass creations at the 13th annual Glass Pumpkin Patch, Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15.

Cider and Ale Festival

Attendees sampled ciders and seasonal beers amid the rich fall colors found around Meadow Lake at the Cider and Ale Festival on Saturday, October 21.

Walking Plays

Walk alongside an acting troupe and follow the classic literary tale Anne of Green Gables performed live among colorful trees and beautiful landscapes in the Arboretum’s Walking Plays series each weekend in October.
