As you enter, you’re presented with a choice of possible starting points. Each will lead you along twisting and winding gravel paths between hedges of American hazelnut, yew, and other shrubs until you solve the puzzle by reaching the great sycamore tree and 12-foot-high lookout platform in the center. Whether you’re navigating solo or making it a team effort with family or friends, this 1-acre garden is an adventure.
- A toddler maze offers a mini-challenge to the youngest Arboretum visitors.
- Admission to the Maze Garden and toddler maze is free with entrance to the Arboretum.
Note: The Maze Garden’s gravel paths are narrow and can be muddy when wet, and slippery in winter weather. The garden may be closed for safety due to weather, even if other trails are open. To inquire about closure due to weather, contact the Visitor Services desk by calling 630-968-0074 or by email at trees@mortonarb.org.
