Celebrate LGBTQ+ families with arts, crafts, and live music in the Children’s Garden.

Come enjoy a welcoming gathering of LGBTQ+ families and allies at The Morton Arboretum’s Pride Night on Thursday, July 30!

The Children’s Garden will be open until 7:30 p.m. to host arts and crafts throughout the evening, and younger children will enjoy live music and storytelling from children’s entertainer Ben Tatar and the Tatar Tots at 5:15 and 6:30 p.m.

Community Partners

This event is presented in partnership with EQuality Downers Grove (EQDG), a nonprofit organization working toward an accepting and equitable environment for LGBTQ+ people through education, support, social action, and advocacy.

Visit with Youth Outlook, PFLAG, and other local organizations supporting LGBTQ+ families.

Light refreshments will be available to purchase.

Tickets

Pride Night is included with Arboretum general admission. Purchase general admission tickets online to save $2 per ticket.

Become an Arboretum member to enter any day without purchasing general admission tickets, and enjoy early members-only hours in the Children’s Garden every week from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Fridays.

Performances and Activities

Enjoy kid-friendly activities, lawn games, and crafts in the Children’s Garden throughout the evening. Details will be available closer to the event date.

Ben Tatar, an elementary school general music teacher for grades K–5, will perform live music for kids and young families with his band, The Tatar Tots. Performances take place at 5:15 and 6:30 p.m. in the Children’s Garden.

Food and Drinks

Light refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the evening. Details will be available closer to the event date.

Accessibility

The majority of the Children’s Garden can be reached by paved paths and accessible wooden bridges. The typical grade is 2%. Several areas of the Garden have other ways to enter by a rope bridge, stairs, or ladders.

Accessible restrooms, including a family restroom, are located in the Central Plaza of the Children’s Garden, near the picnic pavilion.

The partially covered picnic area, with accessible picnic tables, is typically available whenever the Children’s Garden is open.

Sensory Supports

The Children’s Garden has a wide variety of resources available for guests with sensory processing needs, including sensory bags, proprioceptive activity boards, and much more.
