On Sunday, August 23, celebrate the vibrant cultures of Latin America while summer flowers are blooming and the monarch butterflies are visiting the gardens of The Morton Arboretum. From 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., bring your family to enjoy family-friendly activities with live music, concessions, crafts, and activities for all ages.

Highlights

Take part in kids’ activities, lawn games, and crafts in the Children’s Garden.

Learn about community resources from local family-serving organizations.

Listen to live music from a children’s music performer.

Take a one-hour, narrated Spanish-language tram tour through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies.

Purchase food and drinks from a concessions stand and frozen yogurt from the Arboretum’s new Yogurt Patch.

Noche de Familia is included with Arboretum general admission.

Discounted evening admission is available for the date of the event at $5 per person aged 4 and older. Children ages 3 and younger are admitted free.

Select the 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. time slot when purchasing Arboretum admission for Sunday, August 23.

Arboretum members can enter for free and can purchase $10 member add-on admission for those visiting with them. Become a member today.

Celebración de los Árboles

Mark your calendar for Celebración de los Árboles on the weekend of Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, 2026. This family-friendly event showcases traditional and contemporary cultural traditions of Latin America, where the Arboretum does important work to protect and conserve threatened trees and the ecosystems they support.

Live Music

Live music by a children’s music performer will take place on Frost Hill.

Spanish-Language Tram Tour

Take a one-hour, narrated Spanish-language tram tour through woodlands, wetlands, and prairies. The tour will feature fun facts about the Arboretum’s history, grounds, and activities, along with cultural connections to nature.

The tram will leave from the drop-off circle in front of the Visitor Center at 4:00 p.m. The tour lasts approximately one hour.

Tickets must be purchased in person at the Information Desk inside the Visitor Center.

Grab refreshments from a concessions stand and check out the Arboretum’s new Yogurt Patch in the Children’s Garden.

The Yogurt Patch will offer vanilla frozen yogurt with a variety of toppings, served in a souvenir Vivid Creatures cup.
