Arboretum Book Club

Gather among the trees to read, reflect, and connect with fellow book lovers.

Content Detail

Unwind at The Morton Arboretum with an evening dedicated to reading.

Held monthly on Tuesdays, April through September, the Arboretum Book Club is a relaxed, drop-in gathering open to all guests. Bring any book and settle in for an hour or two of uninterrupted reading, or pause to reflect and converse with fellow readers.

This program is included with Arboretum general admission.

Details

The Arboretum Book Club meets outdoors in Arbor Court and the area surrounding the Visitor Center. This event will take place rain or shine. In inclement weather, participants may choose to move indoors during regular business hours. The Visitor Center is open until 5:00 p.m. in April, and until 6:00 p.m., May through October.

Please note that this is an unstructured social opportunity and does not include guided discussion or a reading list. For a traditional book club experience with guided discussion, explore Leafing Through the Pages.

Accessibility

Paved walkways throughout Arbor Court and the area around the Visitor Center are accessible to wheelchairs and walkers.

Accessible parking is available in parking lot P-1, which features a permeable concrete paver system that allows rainwater to pass through. These pavers are uneven, but the accessible parking spaces and pathways from parking lot P-1 to the Visitor Center have smooth pavers.

Manual wheelchairs are available for loan by visiting the Information Desk inside the Visitor Center, as are other aids for guests with special needs. Wheelchairs must be returned before the Visitor Center closes at 5:00 p.m.

Accessible restrooms are available in the Visitor Center until 5:00 p.m. and the nearby West Pavilion until sunset.
