Spring Wine Tasting

Savor seasonal wines among beautiful spring blooms at our wine tasting event.

Sip and savor delicious wines amid beautiful tree-filled views at the Spring Wine Tasting. Over 80 different wines will be available for tasting. Booths will be spread out along Meadow Lake, Frost Hill, and Conifer walking paths to allow for ample space to sample and gorgeous scenic views.

Each event ticket includes 25 1-ounce pours, a souvenir tasting glass, and beautiful Arboretum scenery. Food will be available for purchase and various art vendors will be scattered throughout the event trail. After you sip, stop over to the Famous Liquors tent and pre-order your favorite wines then pick up your order at Famous Liquors in Lombard or Forest Park at a later date. 10% of all wine sales will be donated back to The Morton Arboretum.

Non-drinking and underage guests can join ticket holders along the tasting route and are required to reserve a timed-entry member pass or guest ticket before arriving.

Members: $50

Guests: $60

Ticket purchasers must be 21+ and present a valid I.D. at check-in. All Wine Tasting tickets include admission into the Arboretum on Saturday, May 7, 2022. 

There is no Designated Driver ticket for this event. Non-drinking and underage guests can join ticket holders along the tasting route and are required to reserve a timed-entry member pass or guest ticket before arriving. General admission is limited due to capacity restrictions; reserve your passes before they are sold out.

Entry times must be selected when purchasing tickets. Entry times are available between 12:00 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. 

Last call is at 3:45 p.m. and the last pour is at 4:00 p.m. Arboretum grounds will remain open until sunset for those that would like to remain onsite.

Accessibility

The Wine Tasting takes place on a one-mile-long, paved walking path located near the Visitor Center and Parking Lot 1. This path is accessible for wheelchairs and walkers but does include a few hills. The tasting tables will be stationed on the grass within ten feet of the path.

Food Options

The Ginkgo Restaurant is open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for indoor dining. Seating is limited. The Ginkgo Café is open until 6:00 p.m. for grab-and-go items.

The Ginkgo Grill will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, pretzels, chips, cookies, and other offerings in Arbor Court for the duration of the event.

Bill Bricks on Wheels Food Truck will be on-site from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. View the Menu Here

Order Wine

After you sip, stop over to the Famous Liquors tent and pre-order your favorite wines. When you’re ready, pick up your selections at Famous Liquors in Lombard or Forest Park. 10% of all sales will be donated back to The Morton Arboretum!

The 2022 Spring Wine Tasting Program contains all the information you will need to know what wines are being poured, where you can locate vendors, and other helpful details to guide you through your wine tasting experience.

  • Yes, each participant will receive a souvenir wine glass.

  • This event will not feature live music.

  • Yes, the Ginkgo Restaurant will be open for limited indoor and outdoor seating from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. both days. There will be outdoor concessions available as well. The Ginkgo Café will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Various art and wine-related vendors will be scattered throughout the event space and between the Wine Tasting tables.

  • This year, because the event takes place during regular daytime admission, no Designated Driver ticket is needed. Those who are Guests or Arboretum members and not drinking will need to purchase/obtain a regular daytime admission pass if they wish to join others attending this event. This applies to children as well. To purchase daytime admission tickets, click here. Admission must be obtained in advance. No ticket transactions can occur at the gatehouse. Those without tickets will be turned away.

    Please be sure to coordinate the entry time on admission tickets with the entry date and time on the other person’s Wine Tasting ticket if you intend to enjoy the event together.

  • No, alcohol is not permitted in the Children’s Garden.

  • No, there will be no additional samples available for purchase.

  • Yes, Arboretum admission is included with your Wine Tasting ticket. Visitors are allowed to remain onsite for the duration of the day. The Arboretum will close at sunset.
