Tiny Trekkers is an enchanting program designed specifically for parents who want to introduce their young children to the captivating beauty of the natural world. Our expert facilitators will lead you and your child on a stroller-friendly hike through the Arboretum’s tree collections and model safe and gentle invitations that empower you to connect with nature as a family.

This program meets in person at the Arboretum.

Retta Hennessy, early childhood program instructor, The Morton Arboretum

Retta Hennessy has been on staff at the Children’s Garden at The Morton Arboretum since 2008. She is a long-time early childhood educator, with a master’s degree in education. She is also a Master Naturalist and the Arboretum has enabled her to share a love of teaching and nature with people of all ages. She believes the Arboretum provides a path for everyone to experience the beauty and healing opportunities that nature offers.

What to Know

Dress for the weather. This program takes place outdoors.
