Celebrate LGBTQ+ families at Family Pride Night with arts and crafts and live music in the Children’s Garden.

Come celebrate LGBTQ+ families at Family Pride Night on Thursday, June 27! It’s the perfect occasion for families to come together and appreciate LGBTQ+ identities in the blooming gardens of The Morton Arboretum.

The Children’s Garden will be open until 7:30 p.m. to host arts and crafts throughout the evening, and younger children will enjoy live music and storytelling from children’s entertainer Todd Downing at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.

In The Gerard T. Donnelly Grand Garden, older kids can enjoy bowling activities from Out Bowling League throughout the evening and performances by Lakeside Pride Music Ensemble at 5:45 and 7:15 p.m.

Community Partners

This event is offered in partnership with PFLAG, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

The Morton Arboretum is proud to partner with EQuality Downers Grove (EQDG), a nonprofit organization working toward an accepting and equitable environment for LGBTQ+ people through education, support, social action, and advocacy.

Discounted Admission

Discounted admission to the Arboretum is offered every Thursday after 5:00 p.m. during the months of June, July, and August, at a price of $5 per person over the age of 2. To purchase this ticket type, select the “5:00 to 7:30 p.m.” time slot when purchasing Arboretum admission online for the Thursday of your choice.

Wonder Woods Mini Golf

Wonder Woods Mini Golf is open late on Family Pride Night! The imaginative, tree-themed course was specially designed for the Arboretum with the help of our research scientists. Wonder Woods Mini Golf tickets must be purchased online in advance for a specific, reserved timeslot.

Performances and Activities

Todd Downing will perform catchy melodies and tell tall tales sure to get kids singing, dancing, moving, and laughing. The show is designed for kids ages 2 to 10. Performances are at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. in the Children’s Garden.

A saxophone quartet from Lakeside Pride Music Ensemble will be performing in the Grand Garden at 5:45 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Visit the Out Bowling League table to learn more about Chicagoland’s preeminent queer bowling league, participate in a fun bowling activity, and find out how you can join a social bowling community of over 500 people.

While the Children’s Garden is not open late on Thursday, July 4, and Thursday, July 11, discounted $5 admission to the Arboretum is still available on those evenings.

Food Options

Authentic street style tacos will be available to purchase from Taylor’s Tacos, hamburgers and hotdogs from Go Doggy Run, and ice cream from Rainbow Cone. Attendees are also free to bring their own picnic dinners.
