In this merit badge class, you will explore local government structures and services, and learn how to exercise your role in being a good citizen.

  • Notes: Homework is required between sessions. This class is designed for boy scouts working on their merit badge requirements. Limit 14. Open to ages 11 to 17.
  • Reading: Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge Booklet is required.

Kelly Burns has been teaching at the Arboretum since 2014. Earning a Biology degree in 1995, she has enjoyed a wide variety of jobs, including bat researcher, merit badge counselor, animal keeper, and teacher. Kelly draws upon her experience and passion to help people understand and appreciate the natural world.
