Baking Through the Seasons (in person)

Bake with seasonal ingredients in this program for children ages 3 to 5 years.

Content Detail

Explore through story times, short hikes, and delicious baked goods to take home how plants provide us with fresh and seasonal ingredients for our tables. Program participants will learn how to measure, mix, and portion ingredients, and they will enjoy using all five senses in this program at The Morton Arboretum.

This program meets in person at The Morton Arboretum.

Health and Safety: Program participants must abide by the Arboretum’s health and safety guidelines. Guidelines are subject to change, so please check back frequently.

Age: Children ages 3 to 5 years. An adult must accompany the child.

Mariam Murphy is an educator with a love of outdoor exploration. Inspired by the intrinsic relationship individuals have to nature, she focuses on providing opportunities for all explorers, including those with special needs, to connect with nature.

What to Know

  • An adult must accompany child.
  • A portion of the program will take place outdoors.
  • Dress for the weather; layers are best!
