Capture the colors and textures of autumn with gouache. This opaque paint can be used on both light and dark surfaces, making it well suited for rendering leaves, feathers, lichen, and other seasonal subjects.
Through demonstrations and guided practice, you’ll explore layering, color mixing, and techniques for creating texture while developing paintings inspired by the fall landscape.
Whether you’re new to gouache or looking to build on your existing skills, this class will introduce the unique qualities of this versatile medium.

Suzanne Wegener is a freelance artist specializing in natural history illustration and education in pencil, pen-and-ink, watercolor, and gouache. She has a degree in scientific illustration and teaches regularly in the Chicago area.
