Join the Nature Artists’ Guild of The Morton Arboretum this October for a guest artist presentation by George Shipperly, exploring the artist’s creative process and oil pastel techniques, and sources of inspiration in the natural world.
Whether you’re an artist, a nature enthusiast, or simply curious to learn more, this public program offers an opportunity to hear from a professional artist whose work celebrates the beauty and diversity of nature.

George Shipperly, artist
George Shipperley is an Aurora, Illinois-based impressionist artist known for his originality, creativity, and use of color. He works primarily in pastel, acrylic, and oil stick, and is the owner of Shipperley Art Gallery. Shipperly and his wife, Lois, previously operated Henrich Art Gallery and Custom Frame Shop in Aurora. He is also an art instructor, member of Chicago’s Palette & Chisel Academy, and the first awarded Signature Member of the Oil Pastel Society.
The Nature Artists’ Guild
The Nature Artists’ Guild of The Morton Arboretum connects people interested in exploring and learning more about the field of nature art. Membership in the Nature Artists’ Guild is open to all who are interested in natural history and botanical art and artists of all levels are welcome. They offer nature art themed educational programs six times a year, regular art invitations, and spring and fall exhibits of natural history art.
