Instructor Yvonne Wolf explains Japanese Notan art and its use of “dark-light” (濃淡) demonstrating the balance between positive (shape) and negative (background) space, using high-contrast and wasting no paper.
This is a beginner’s lesson in creating and appreciating the art of symmetry. Come and make an Asian Garden moon door silhouette or a pagoda silhouette using paper-cutting techniques. There will be templates available with several designs to choose from.
