See the pre-camp information packet for additional information regarding camp absences, before-camp care and after-camp care, and other important pre-camp details.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up

Drop-Off

Drop-off is at Thornhill Shelter, located at parking lot P-21. After entering the Arboretum at the gatehouse, take the first right and follow the main road toward the West Side until you arrive at parking lot P-21. Parking lot numbers go in numerical order.

If you arrive before your camp starts, please wait until 10 minutes before the camp start time to check in. Please be respectful of camp staff during this preparation time.

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in your vehicle while you are on Arboretum grounds. Additionally, dogs are not permitted at the Thornhill Shelter.

Check-In

Check-in starts ten minutes before your camp’s start time. You must be with your camper during check-in.

Campers will be checked in at the picnic tables at Thornhill Shelter. Please be sure to apply sunscreen and bug spray at home, before camp check-in. After dropping off your camper, you are welcome to stay on-site.

Please note that camp will not be canceled due to rain. Camp is held outdoors, rain or shine. In case of extreme weather, campers will participate in indoor activities at the Thornhill Education Center.

To get to the closest exit after drop-off, proceed to the back of parking lot P-21 and turn right. You will arrive at an automated gate. Please pull up to the white line and stop to activate the gate. Once the gate opens, proceed to exit the Arboretum grounds onto Park Blvd. Even if the gate is open, please stop at the line before proceeding to exit, so the sensor recognizes your vehicle and remains open.

Pick-Up and Check-Out

Pick-up is at Thornhill Shelter area. Check-out starts at your camp’s end time. All authorized adults making pick-ups must provide a photo ID each day for your camper to be checked out. To ensure accurate information and timely pickup, please complete your approved pick-ups list before the start of camp.

Late Drop-Off and Early Pick-Up

Please avoid late drop-off and early pick-up. We ask that you drop off and pick up within your camp’s window. If you are dropping off late or picking up early, meet camp staff at the Thornhill Shelter. Please allow at least 15 minutes for staff to connect you with your camper.

Please let Krista Phelps know as soon as possible of any late arrivals or early dismissals by emailing kphelps@mortonarb.org or calling at (630)-719-4890.

Pre-Camp Information Packet

The pre-camp information packet contains additional information regarding camp absences, what to bring (and not to bring) to camp, before and after care information, along with all other pre-camp details.
