The Arbor Day Plant Sale at The Morton Arboretum is one of the largest seasonal plant sales in the Chicago region. It offers thousands of carefully chosen plants, and expert Plant Geniuses are available throughout the sale to answer questions and suggest plants. The 2025 sale will take place Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26.
Event Details and Hours
To shop at the Arbor Day Plant Sale, guests must purchase tickets for a specific entry time in advance. Early Access tickets allow guests to shop before the sale opens to the public on Thursday, April 24. Included with all Plant Sale tickets is a $15 credit to be applied toward a purchase at the sale.

Open to Arboretum donors
3:00 to 7:00 p.m.—Donor Preview Event
Tree Advocate, President’s Council, and Thornhill Society members will receive a separate invitation with details to register. Join one of these membership levels today.
Thursday, April 24
Open to members and the general public
9:00 a.m. to noon—Admission by Early Access tickets only
1:00 to 4:00 p.m.—Admission by regular Plant Sale timed-entry tickets
Friday, April 25
Open to members and the general public
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—Admission by regular Plant Sale timed-entry tickets
Saturday, April 26

Ticket Details
Tickets will be available exclusively to Arboretum members from Monday, March 31, through Monday, April 14. Tickets are available to guests who are not members starting on Tuesday, April 15. Space is limited and tickets are offered on a first come, first serve basis.
To become a member or renew your membership so that you can order tickets before Tuesday, April 15, call the Membership Hotline at 630-719-2453, visit the Member Services Desk in the Visitor Center, or become a member via the Arboretum’s website.
Early Access
With Early Access tickets, guests can shop from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 24, 2025, before the Plant Sale opens to all ticket holders at 1:00 p.m.
