Bike rental availability varies depending on the time of year. Rentals are currently available daily (through Sunday, October 25). Please note that rentals will not be available on Saturday, October 3.
Weekend bike rental hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a last rental start time of 3:00 p.m. Weekday self-service bike rental hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a last rental start time of 4:00 p.m.
Rental costs vary depending on the equipment rented and the length of the rental period.
Rental Reservations
We recommend reserving weekend bike rentals in advance, as equipment is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Weekday bike rentals are self-service only and must be booked online. Your booking confirmation email will contain a link to unlock your bike. When you arrive at the bike rental tent, tap “Unlock” and the frame lock will open.

Please note that Arboretum general admission is not included with bike rental reservations and must be purchased separately.

The bike rental station is located just outside the main entrance to the Visitor Center on the Arboretum’s East Side.
Guests are welcome to bring their own bicycles to ride on paved roads at the Arboretum.

- Visitor Center (parking lot P-1)
- Big Rock Visitor Station (parking lot P-13)
- Thornhill Education Center (parking lot P-21)
- Prairie Visitor Station (parking lot P-25)
