Spend a summer evening jamming and grooving with rising children’s music star, Jules, at The Morton Arboretum. On Thursday, June 26, Jules will perform original songs for children while kids and adults enjoy pizza, available to purchase from a variety of food truck vendors.

Jules is a children’s music composer and performer who came to worldwide attention with their appearances on YouTube and Netflix’s popular children’s show, Ms. Rachel. Their songs engage kids’ imaginations while expressing the joy of being your authentic self and the importance of showing kindness to others.

Event Highlights

Guests may purchase pizza from food truck vendors at the event or preorder personal pizzas. Pizza is not included in the cost of admission.

Colorful, creative hands-on activities will take place in the Children’s Garden, and tables will be set up in Arbor Court and on Tram Road for guests to visit with community partner organizations and participate in activities.

Arboretum members can purchase tickets to attend a members-only meet-and-greet with Jules.

Event Details

Jules will perform at Frost Hill, located near the Visitor Center. This event takes place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, with performances throughout the evening. Please plan to arrive before your scheduled entry time to account for lines at the gatehouse and construction on Route 53.

Limited accessible seating is available near the concert area.

To help provide the best experience possible, Arboretum members who plan to attend are asked to RSVP in advance. While not required, an RSVP will provide an estimate of how many guests to expect so that the Arboretum can plan accordingly.

Pizza Party with Jules is one of three family-centered events at The Morton Arboretum this summer, each offered with discounted evening admission. Discounted admission is available after 5:00 p.m. at a price of $5 per person aged 4 and older. Children aged 3 and younger are admitted free. Wonder Woods Mini Golf

Wonder Woods Mini Golf will be open late for Pizza Party with Jules! The imaginative, tree-themed mini golf course was specially designed for the Arboretum with the help of our research scientists. Wonder Woods Mini Golf tickets must be purchased online in advance for a specific, reserved timeslot.

Colorful Crafts in the Children’s Garden

Visit the Children’s Garden for creative hands-on activities throughout the evening. Children can explore water and color mixing to create new colors or make their own unique painting.

Member Meet-and-Greet with Jules

Arboretum members can purchase tickets to attend a members-only meet-and-greet with Jules from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please note that tickets to meet Jules will be limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Community Partners

Throughout the evening, tables will be set up in Arbor Court and on Tram Road for guests to visit with community partner organizations and participate in activities.

EQuality Downers Grove (EQDG) is a nonprofit organization working toward an accepting and equitable environment for LGBTQ+ people. Visit their table to learn about EQDG programs for education, support, social action, and advocacy.

Out In Nature is a group of LGBTQIA+ nature lovers who explore the outdoors in the Chicago area, the suburbs, and beyond. Learn about upcoming events that create a safe space for connecting with natureand with one another.

PFLAG is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

NAMI Dupage is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization that provides free and low-cost programs and support services to individuals experiencing mental health-related distress.

Established in 1998, Youth Outlook is the first and longest-running social service agency in Illinois solely dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth. They offer drop-in centers, community education, and professional development across northern and central Illinois.

What to Bring

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs for sitting on the grass.

Guests with small children are encouraged to bring a stroller, as parking near the concert area may not be available due to the popularity of this event.

Purchase pizza, empanadas, ice cream, and more from food trucks at the event, or preorder personal pizzas to save time in line. Please note that pizza is not included in the cost of admission.

Personal Pizza Preorders

Personal pizza preorders may be made until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23. Pizza preorders can be picked up at the Ginkgo Café in the Visitor Center from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The nearest parking lot with space to accommodate guests attending Pizza Party with Jules is parking lot P-1, which has accessible parking spaces.

The quickest accessible, paved route from the accessible spots in parking lot P-1 to Frost Hill is via Meadow Lake Trail, a distance of approximately one-third to one-quarter of a mile.

Accessible restrooms in the Children’s Garden are open from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and in the West Pavilion until sunset.
