Arboretum members can explore a sprawling scene built of LEGO® bricks and watch the trains run along bustling avenues, between towering skyscrapers, and past colorful city gardens. Kids and adults alike will enjoy spotting Chicago landmarks and discovering the secrets held within this miniature world.
In partnership with the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club, LEGO Trains will be on display from Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, in the Sycamore Room, near the Visitor Center on the Arboretum’s East Side.
Although the LEGO Trains Member Event is exclusive to Arboretum members, guests who are not members are encouraged to visit Juniper Junction, a large-scale model railroad display that is included with Arboretum admission and open to all.

Design and Build Your Own LEGO Train Layout
In this hands-on workshop exclusive to Arboretum members, learn how the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club designs and builds their imaginative LEGO train layouts. Participants will design and build a LEGO piece that they may take home—or add to the Arboretum’s LEGO Trains display!
