The Blooms and Botanicals Tattoo Fair will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26. Tattoo artists will be located inside the Visitor Center and the nearby Sycamore Room. Vendor tables will be stationed outside in Arbor Court.

Tickets

The Blooms and Botanicals Tattoo Fair is included with Arboretum general admission. Tattoos vary in price.

Botanical Tattoos

Get a botanical tattoo by an artist from Bone & Blossom, a women-owned tattoo studio in Lombard, IL. Choose your tattoo from a selection of botanical-themed designs provided by each artist.

Six tattoo artists will be available for walk-up flash tattoos from 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, and Sunday, July 26.

Tattoos will cost approximately $80 to $240, depending on size, level of detail, and the time required to complete the design. Each artist will offer a selection of preexisting designs to choose from. Designs will be approximately 2 to 3 inches or smaller. Artists are not able to offer customized designs.

Tattoo appointments for designated time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and must be scheduled in person with an artist at the event. Appointments cannot be made in advance. Approximately 20 tattoo appointments will be available each day. We recommend arriving early to secure a time slot.

Three tattoo artists will be located in the Visitor Center, and three tattoo artists will be located in the nearby Sycamore Room. All six artists will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Tattoo Artists

Sara

Sara opened Bone & Blossom Tattoo Studio in September 2023 with a vision of creating a welcoming, creative space where every client feels comfortable and respected. Her goal was to build a tattoo studio that prioritizes exceptional customer experiences, inclusivity, and the highest standards of safety and hygiene for both clients and artists.

As a small business owner, Sara is passionate about supporting and engaging with the local community.

Sara has been tattooing since 2018 and specializes in full-color illustrative tattoos. Her work is heavily inspired by floral subject matter, art history, and vintage design movements, including Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and Pop Art. She enjoys creating custom pieces that blend bold color, decorative elements, and timeless artistic influences into unique, meaningful tattoos.

April

April has been tattooing since 2020, and specializes in illustrative and neo-traditional styles. She enjoys doing work that incorporates nerd/fandom themes like Pokemon, Studio Ghibli, and Lord of the Rings, and her work often showcases a strong feminine subject matter.

Emily

Emily began her journey as a full-time tattoo artist in 2020 at Electric Tattoo Parlor. Before that, she shared her passion for art as an instructor at Creative Arts Inc. in Crystal Lake. She specializing in illustrative and neo-traditional color tattoos, Emily is also skilled in fine-line, traditional, and black and gray styles. She strives to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, collaborating closely with clients to bring their ideas to life.

Emma

Emma began her tattooing journey in 2020 at Unbreakable Ink, and since then, her passion for tattooing has only grown. She believes that tattoos are the perfect way to capture personal stories and moments in time, which is why she doesn’t limit herself to any one styleWhile she’s open to all kinds of designs, she has a special love for anything nature inspired. Her favorite styles are neotraditional and watercolor.

Kelsey

Kelsey has been tattooing since 2023 and specializes in anime-inspired designs and stipple-shaded work. She enjoys tattooing pieces rooted in fandom culture, with a love for anime, video games, and pop culture, and is always eager to explore new styles and work with more color. Kelsey tattoos in both color and blackwork on all body types.

Haley

Haley V Ferro started her tattoo journey in spring of 2025. Her inspiration comes from animation, comics, fantasy, and video games. Haley is interested in traditional inspired and illustrative tattoo styles with lots of color.

Food and Drinks

Concessions will be available to purchase throughout the weekend. Details will be available closer to the event date.

Ginkgo Restaurant and Café

Food and beverages are available at the Ginkgo Restaurant and the Ginkgo Café, both located in the Visitor Center.

The Ginkgo Restaurant is a sit-down restaurant that offers a full dinner and beverage menu, including freshly made sandwiches, salads, burgers, and assorted alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. The restaurant is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekends.

Freshly made packaged salads and sandwiches, bakery items, espresso beverages, hot tea, and drip coffee are available at the Ginkgo Café, open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm.

Accessibility

Tattoo artists will be located inside the Visitor Center and the Sycamore Room. Vendor tables will be stationed outdoors in Arbor Court.

The Sycamore Room is located in the West Pavilion of the Visitor Center, just west of the main Visitor Center building. The entrance to the West Pavilion does not have steps and is accessible to wheelchairs and walkers.

Accessible restrooms are located in the main Visitor Center building and the West Pavilion. A large all-gender restroom with a changing table is also available in the West Pavilion.

Manual wheelchairs are available for loan by visiting the Information Desk inside the Visitor Center, as are other aids for guests with special needs.

Accessible parking is available in parking lot P-1, an environmentally friendly parking lot with uneven pavers. The accessible parking spaces and pathways from parking lot P-1 to the Visitor Center area feature smooth pavers.
