On Saturday, March 15, 2025, visit The Morton Arboretum for Tales from the Great Outdoors, a children’s book event. Listen to captivating children’s stories that ignite a love for the great outdoors, meet talented children’s books authors, and get creative with hands-on activities that support literacy skill development.

Presenters will also share tips for nurturing literacy at home and accessing valuable early childhood resources at local libraries.

Inspire a passion for the great outdoors and the great books alike in this exciting event for readers of all ages!

Event Details

Tales from the Great Outdoors is intended for families with young children.

Entrance to the Sterling Morton Library for this event is included with Arboretum admission.

A selection of children’s books will be available for sale at the event.

Program Schedule

Tales from the Great Outdoors will be hosted on Saturday, March 15, 2025, and will be open anytime between 9:00 a.m. and noon.

Sterling Morton Library, Administration and Research Center (Parking Lot 1), East Side

Children’s books readings will take place every 30 minutes between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Crafts, activities, and local library resources will be available for the duration of the event.
