Painting Wooden Ornaments with Acrylics

Create wooden ornaments of woodland creatures using acrylics.

Content Detail

Learn techniques for painting natural subjects on wood using acrylics. Artist and teacher Lindsay Sandbothe will demonstrate her techniques for preparing wood surfaces and for creating images of animals. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own hand-painted wooden ornaments.

Please note, this workshop is for the intermediate or advanced art student. Previous experience is required.

Lindsay Sandbothe, artist

Lindsay Sandbothe is a painter specializing in acrylic on wood. She received her BFA in art education from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and she currently works at the American Academy of Art in Chicago while also painting out of her Highland, IN studio.

This is an intermediate to advanced program; foundational knowledge and skills are required.

Students should bring the recommended supplies to class.
