The medium of charcoal allows you to work on a large surface and save time in the process. Charcoal provides rich darks, and can be used in a loose expressive manner or controlled to create more detailed work.
Under the guidance of artist Kimberly Mullarkey, participants will:
- Practice charcoal techniques using value, form, and composition
- Experiment with the versatility of charcoal as a medium
- Complete large charcoal pieces created in class
In this friendly and supportive environment, constructive critiques will help guide and encourage you to enjoy the process of creating r large-scale botanical drawings and refine your charcoal techniques. This program meets in person at the Arboretum.
