Kusamono Workshop

In this workshop learn how to create a kusamono with flowers and wild grasses.

Content Detail

Kusamono are potted arrangements of flowers and wild grasses in unique pots to be displayed by themselves or with bonsai. All plant material, soil, and one ceramic bonsai container will be provided. Participants can also bring their own extra pots. Examples of established kusamono will be on hand as illustrations of the importance of balance and seasonal cues.

Dan Turner

Dan Turner has been a member of Prairie State Bonsai Society for more than 10 years. He has worked on all types of bonsai and kusamono. His trees have won several awards.

What to Know

Supplies: Price includes materials.

Students are asked to bring in the tools they have on hand. Extra tools will be provided by Prairie State Bonsai Society.

Material selection is by lottery drawing.
