In this hands-on, sensory-based program at The Morton Arboretum, young explorers will hike, play, listen to stories, and engage in science and art activities. Program participants will explore these seasonal topics:

  • April: Happy Hatchlings
  • May: Beautiful Butterflies
  • June: Mudpies

This program meets in person at the Arboretum.

Instructor: Kathryn Neuffer, supervisor of early childhood programs, The Morton Arboretum

Age: Children ages 18 to 35 months. An adult must accompany the child.

Kathryn Neuffer has a background in early childhood and special education. She enjoys introducing the Arboretum’s youngest visitors to the wonders of the outdoors and helping to increase children’s curiosity toward the natural world through play and hands-on experiences.

What to Know

Dress for the weather. This program takes place both indoors and out.
