Summer Blooms in Watercolor

Capture the shapes, colors, and intricate details of flowers in watercolor.

Content Detail

In this four-session program, work with specimens gathered from the grounds of The Morton Arboretum to create vibrant, expressive floral paintings. Students will learn to create texture using washes and dry brush techniques and practice mixing the bright and bold colors seen in nature.

Through guided exercises and individual practice, participants will deepen observational skills and build artistic techniques.

This is an intermediate to advanced-level program; foundational drawing and painting skills are required.

This program meets in person at the Arboretum.

Suzanne Wegener is a freelance artist specializing in natural history illustration and education in pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, and gouache. She has a degree in scientific illustration and teaches regularly in the Chicago area.

This program meets indoors.

This is an intermediate to advanced-level program; foundational drawing and painting skills are required.

All supplies will be provided in class.
