As Manager of Plant Records at The Morton Arboretum, Ed Hedborn’s primary responsibility is to maintain information about the life history of any plant the Arboretum has had in its living collections, and make that information available to its staff, researchers, and the general public. He is also responsible for plant identification, the appropriate plant nomenclature to use, maintaining the main and online plant databases, and gathering and disseminating information about fall color and spring bloom development in the Arboretum’s collections and natural areas.
