Chad Rigsby is stationed at The Morton Arboretum’s Center for Tree Science as part of a partnership with The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company.

In his role at the Arboretum, Chad shares his valuable expertise in tree-insect biochemical, physiological, and ecological interactions; chemical ecology; and arboriculture and urban forestry.

The Morton Arboretum and The F.A. Bartlett Tree Expert Company share a commitment to improving the scientific basis supporting best tree care practices in order to improve tree performance in the urban environment. Morton and Bartlett researchers work to generate new knowledge that will directly inform practices in the professional green industry and assist in making better decisions about selecting, planting, and caring for trees in suburban and urban areas.

Chad Rigsby received his PhD from Wright State University in 2016 and spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at The University of Rhode Island.

In 2018, Chad joined The F.A. Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories as a Research Scientist and Technical Support Specialist. There, he conducts arboriculture research and interacts with arborists, urban foresters, and others in the green industry to promote proper tree management in the urban landscape.

Chad has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, given numerous talks at society meetings, workshops, educational events, and community meetings, and was awarded the Postdoctoral Fellow Research and Scholarship Excellence Award at The University of Rhode Island.
