As a key part of the Arborversity Horticulture Training Program, The Morton Arboretum is hosting a series of virtual curriculum workshops to convene public garden professionals to discuss the horticulture training needs of their organizations.
We are actively seeking participation from public garden professionals from across the country who are involved in training staff and/or volunteers. Each workshop will run for three hours— including breaks—and will focus on one specific topic related to horticulture training (see the list below). As a workshop participant, you will be asked to spend 15-20 minutes reviewing some materials ahead of time and then to contribute your expertise in conversations and breakout rooms during the workshop that you’ve selected.
The goals of the curriculum workshops will be to understand how different organizations currently address each of the topics and begin outlining specific learning objectives that would make each topic useful and relevant to their staff.
Once the workshops have concluded, the project team will synthesize the findings and draft the curriculum framework, including specific learning objectives and levels for each topic. The final version of the curriculum framework will be circulated for feedback, made available on the Arborversity platform, and shared among the APGA and ArbNet membership.
If you are interested in participating in our curriculum workshops, please review the workshop descriptions below and sign up for the one that best accommodates your schedule and interests.
