No matter what your vision for your wedding day, The Morton Arboretum has outdoor and indoor wedding venues and reception sites to fulfill your needs.

Save on winter and spring wedding packages by hosting your wedding January through April.

Firefly Pavilion

The new Firefly Pavilion is a three-season event space available for weddings. Located just south of The Gerard T. Donnelly Grand Garden on the Arboretum’s East Side, this venue features patio space for cocktail or social receptions and offers a breathtaking view of the Arboretum’s gardens and tree collections.

Accommodates 300 for reception only; 250 for ceremony and reception.

Ceremony Sites

Enjoy both your reception and ceremony at the Firefly Pavilion.

Firefly Pavilion is a sustainably built event venue, certified as net zero by its LEED Silver® designation.

Ginkgo Room

With floor-to-ceiling windows, the Ginkgo Room offers breathtaking views of Meadow Lake in all four seasons. Guests can enjoy cocktails in Orientation Hall, dinner and dancing in the Ginkgo Room, and picturesque views of the lake from the outdoor terrace.

Accommodates 270.

 

Ceremony Sites

The Gerard T. Donnelly Grand Garden

Built in honor of the Arboretum’s Centennial, this magical garden creates an elegant celebration space. With a central lawn for seating, a terrace for wedding ceremonies, and delightful water features, The Grand Garden is the perfect place to make lifelong memories.

Thornhill Education Center

Book the Thornhill Education Center—once the historic site of the Morton family mansion—and enjoy your reception in the spacious Arbor Room or in the stately Founder’s Room.

 

Arbor Room

Celebrate your special day followed by an indoor reception in the Arbor Room overlooking an expansive landscape and beautiful stone terrace.

Accommodates 130 for reception.

 

Founder’s Room

Host your ceremony or cocktail hour in the Founder’s Room—once the library of the Morton family mansion. The room features ornately carved woodwork, a marble fireplace, and stained glass windows that provide an elegant setting.

Accommodates 130 for pre-dinner reception; 60 for ceremony.

 

Ceremony Sites

Thornhill Terrace

The Thornhill Terrace is an outdoor site overlooking a sweeping vista of colorful gardens, elegant paths, and the peaceful woodlands of the Arboretum’s West Side.

 

Fragrance Garden

The Fragrance Garden is also available as a ceremony site when booked as a separate rental add-on.

Sycamore Room

Located in the West Pavilion of the Visitor Center, the Sycamore Room has expansive glass walls overlooking the tranquil Ground Cover Garden. This warm and inviting space is perfect for intimate groups.

Accommodates 60 for reception only.

Fragrance Garden

Captivate guests with the colorful blooms and elegant design of the Arboretum’s Fragrance Garden.

Available as a rental add-on option for ceremonies, this unique and intimate garden is accented with a charming trellis, fountain, and pond. Updated seasonally, the garden beds showcase vivid colors, alluring textures, and fragrant plants that delight the senses.

The Fragrance Garden is the perfect location for small ceremonies and cocktail receptions.

Winter and Spring Weddings

Winter is a magical time to get married at The Morton Arboretum. The frosted conifers and snow-covered lakes provide a backdrop to warm, historic, and inviting rooms. Spring also has its charms, with welcome pops of color blooming in the Arboretum’s gardens and woodlands.

From January through April, save on winter and spring weddings at the Arboretum with the reduced-rate Ginkgo or Thornhill packages.

Ginkgo Package

Exchange vows in the Ginkgo Room overlooking Meadow Lake, followed by cocktails in Orientation Hall, with dinner and dancing in the Ginkgo Room. The Ginkgo Package includes:

  • $5,000 rental rate for Ginkgo Room
  • Ceremony, dinner, and dancing in the Ginkgo Room
  • Cocktail reception in Orientation Hall

Thornhill Package

Say “I do” in the Founder’s Room, formerly the library of the Morton family mansion, complete with stained glass windows, ornate bookcases, and a fireplace. Ceremony is followed by cocktails in the foyer, dinner in the Arbor Room, and dancing in the Founder’s Room. The Thornhill Package includes:

  • $3,000 rental rate for Thornhill Education Center
  • Ceremony and dancing in Founder’s Room
  • Cocktail reception in foyer
  • Dinner in the Arbor Room
