Earn your Forestry Merit Badge at The Morton Arboretum as you create your own field book to identify local trees and shrubs by leaves, buds, and bark. Through this hands-on class, scouts will understand the importance of forest ecosystems, learn management techniques to preserve biodiversity, and investigate the health of a forest by observing signs of insects, fires, and disease.

Instructor: education program guide/merit badge counselor

Notes: Homework is required between sessions. This class is designed for Boy Scouts working on their merit badge requirements. Limit 14.  Open to ages 11–17.
