Join fine art photographer Mike Baker of 3rdEYE Photographic for a three-day workshop exploring and capturing fall’s fleeting beauty. Students will learn how to capture the distinct mood, textures, and colors of the fall season.
We’ll cover composition, creative techniques, camera settings, and some post processing methods to help you express your unique vision.
This program includes live online sessions and an in-person session:
Day 1: Fall photography fundamentals (live Zoom session)
Day 2: Guided outdoor photo walk to practice techniques acquired during Day 1 (in-person session at The Morton Arboretum)
Day 3: Constructive review and feedback (live Zoom session)
This workshop is appropriate for DSLR, mirrorless, or smartphone users. Students should have some familiarity with their camera and lenses.

Mike Baker is an award-winning and published fine art photographer based in the Chicago area. He began his photographic adventures while in the United States Air Force, stationed in Berlin, Germany, documenting his travels throughout Europe. Since then, he has developed a keen eye in travel, landscapes, and cityscape photography. His approach to photography can be best described as “elevating the ordinary.” He takes what many would deem ordinary subjects and makes them extraordinary as he searches for distinguishing patterns, shapes, light, and shadow. His specialty includes creating imagery in monochrome (black-and-white).
His work has been exhibited in art galleries and shows, published in coffee-table books and magazines, and he has won awards in international competitions. His work has been added to private collections and he continues to create new work. He continues to share his passion for photography via presentations and photographic workshops.
