Enjoy the fall warbler migration while learning a methodical approach to identifying birds.
This course will focus on the identification of birds by considering their fall plumages, arrival dates, migration patterns, habitat preferences, and alternate feeding approaches.
Although warblers are no longer as easily recognizable by their bright colors as they migrate through northern Illinois during autumn, they can still be identified with field-tested techniques that rely on subtle details. In this birding workshop, students will learn to identify warblers during autumn using these techniques.
The weeknight class will take place at The Morton Arboretum, laying the groundwork for two nearby field sessions in DuPage County. Driving directions will be provided during the first class.
This program meets in person at the Arboretum on the first Wednesday session; Sunday sessions will visit field locations in DuPage County. Driving directions will be provided in the first class.
