The Lunar New Year arrives on Wednesday, January 29, beginning the Year of the Snake. Join instructor Yvonne Wolf as she presents on the art of Chinese paper cutting ahead of the Lunar New Year. She will bring examples of art created by Chinese paper cutting experts and demonstrate beginner projects that can be finished within a few minutes.
In this daylong paper cutting workshop, students will:
- Create their own Lunar New Year decorations with provided templates
- Learn about the cross-cultural connections of this celebration
- Learn the Chinese characters for words such as spring, peace, and the Zodiac animal of the year, the Snake
Whether you are a skilled artist or first-timer, this class will have something for you. Let’s celebrate the Year of the Snake together.
This program meets in person at the Arboretum.
All paper cutting supplies are provided.
