This course is for those interested in exploring their connection to the surrounding landscape, with a focus on plein air (outdoor) wet and dry media. Rooted in direct observation of our natural and built environment, the course weaves threads from ecology, botany, and art history. These interdisciplinary connections will provide inspiration and context, helping participants engage more meaningfully with their surroundings and artistic choices.
Through a series of outdoor and indoor sessions, participants will develop their skills in composition, value, and mark-making while exploring how artists have responded to the landscapes around them. Each week will include a blend of guided practice, work time, and reflective critiques, all designed to support creative growth in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Whether you’re looking to reconnect with your creativity, explore nature through a new lens, or refine your artistic technique, this course offers a welcoming space to learn, experiment, and be inspired.
Supplies will be available however if you have preferred tools or materials you would like to use please bring to the class.
