As photographers, we often look at and capture the world from our base height of five to six feet off the ground. To ourselves and our viewers, those images feel familiar, normal and comfortable. We’ll occasionally get down on one knee or angle the camera up to the sky. In this class, photographers of any skill level will practice the art of seeing with a different perspective.
In this program, we will explore creative camera techniques and discover how a willingness to break the norms can expand artistic horizons and bring about bold and exciting new compositions.
We will explore shooting images:
- While laying on the ground
- With ultra-long exposures
- Using macro lenses with extension tubes
- Using ultra-wide angle and extreme telephoto lenses
- With unique camera placements
- Applying techniques of panning and zooming to emphasize motion
Specialized equipment (like ultra-wide angle or telephoto lenses) is not required. Techniques will be demonstrated through hands-on sessions.
This program meets in person at the Arboretum.
