On this outdoor walking tour, explore the scenic grounds of The Morton Arboretum with Stephanie Adams, the Arboretum’s plant health care leader. The tour will cover:
- visible indicators that seasonal insects and other pests, plant diseases, or environmental conditions are impacting plants on our grounds,
- strategies for integrated management of pests and diseases,
- plant selection and care strategies to help prevent pest and disease issues.
Each session will feature the pests and diseases active at that time. Sign up for one or both to learn about emerging pest and disease issues through the season.

Stephanie Adams draws on her expertise in botany and plant pathology (the study of plant diseases) in her role as the Arboretum’s plant health care leader. Adams has devoted her career to developing a deep understanding of plant health and plant protection across the fields of arboriculture, urban forestry, and horticulture. Her areas of expertise include diagnosing pests, understanding physiological changes in trees in response to disease, tool sanitation efficacy, and alternative fungicide use in plants susceptible to fungal foliar problems.
