Stephanie Adams draws on her expertise in botany and forest conservation in her role as the Arboretum’s Plant Health Care Leader.
Stephanie has devoted her career to developing a deep understanding of plant health and plant protection across the fields of arboriculture, urban forestry, and horticulture. Her areas of expertise include diagnosing pests, understanding physiological changes in trees in response to disease, tool sanitation efficacy, and alternative fungicide use in plants susceptible to fungal foliar problems.
She also has developed extensive knowledge about phytopathology, clinical plant disease diagnostics and insect identifications (using techniques from field diagnostics, light microscopy, and molecular techniques), and managing plant health issues utilizing practices that span cultural and chemical management practices.
