Lindsey’s training in plant systematics helps support the work of the Arboretum’s Herbarium, where she is a research assistant in Andrew Hipp’s lab.
Lindsey assists with processing and maintaining the collections in the Herbarium as part of its ongoing project to enable researchers and the public to access data and images related to the specimens. She also works on special projects, such as the Thematic Collections Network (TCN): Aquatic Invasives, and conservation value in four genera at The Morton Arboretum (IMLS), using phylogenomics and curatorial techniques.
She was part of the recently completed Aquatic Invasive Species Thematic Collection Network (TCN), an initiative to digitize specimens and make available online museum records of invasive species to enable access to the data, as well as to be able to detect patterns of spread of invasive species.
