Evelyn Stasinopoulos

Chicago Region Trees Initiative Community Coordinator

Content Detail

Evelyn Stasinopoulos manages projects related to the Tree Equity Grant for Disadvantaged Communities, for which she assists municipalities and community groups to attain their forestry goals and to spread the joy of being in nature.

Stasinopoulos’ interests lie in the intersection of human dimensions and the natural world. She seeks opportunities to speak to diverse audiences about the benefits of trees and how people can plant, advocate for, and care for the trees in their urban forests.

Working with a variety of tree champions throughout the state and beyond, Stasinopoulos continues to learn the ways in which trees impact communities differently and how the communication about and the care for trees may also differ between them. She also seeks to increase support for and understanding of urban forests as infrastructure by connecting forestry professionals and enthusiasts with resources and with one another.

Accomplishments

Stasinopoulos is an ISA Certified Arborist and has presented for various community groups and at several events.
