Northeastern Illinois is fortunate to be in two flyways, including the longest bird migration route of any in the Western Hemisphere. Learn about fall migrants and newly arrived winter residents.
Field work will concentrate on bird identification skills. You will learn how molt, feather wear, and age vary a bird’s fall plumage, and what is important to consider in identifying bird species.
