LISLE, Ill. (April 20, 2026)— The Morton Arboretum has announced the appointment of Christie Hoyt as its new vice president of development. She joined the Arboretum on April 20, reporting to President and CEO Jill Koski.
Hoyt will guide the Arboretum’s comprehensive development program in support of its ambitious and forward-thinking strategic plan. Working in close collaboration with senior staff and board leadership, Hoyt will expand and broaden the organization’s base of individual, foundation and corporate philanthropic support, as well as its general membership.
“Christie’s vast leadership in fundraising strategy and building philanthropic partnerships for nationally recognized cultural and mission-driven organizations will be essential in advancing the Arboretum’s work toward a greener, healthier, more beautiful world where people and trees thrive together,” Koski said.
Hoyt, who brings nearly 20 years of experience in the field of nonprofit development, most recently served as campaign director for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. There, she helped lead the organization’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign and partnered with national volunteer leaders and major donors to advance philanthropic support for Team USA.
Prior to joining the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Hoyt spent 15 years in museum development, including serving as senior director of major giving and campaign at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, where she helped lead the largest capital campaign in the institution’s history, surpassing its $350 million goal.
“I’m thrilled to join the Arboretum at this pivotal time as we look to the future of its strategic plan to further support the organization’s mission-based work in tree science, conservation and education,” Hoyt said.
Hoyt received her Bachelor of Arts in history from Michigan State University.
