Intermediate Knitting

Build new skills and stitch your way to a handmade winter.

Content Detail

Knitting is more than a calming craft. It allows you to challenge yourself creatively while producing pieces you’ll be proud to wear or give as gifts.

This intermediate-level course is designed for knitters who already have a foundation and are ready to grow. Guided by knitting expert Lauren Incrocci, you’ll explore new techniques that expand your abilities and open the door to more complex projects.

In this course, you will learn:

  • Increasing and decreasing techniques
  • Knitting in the round, using circular and double-pointed needles
  • Working with two colors in stranded colorwork (Fair Isle)
Advanced pattern reading, blocking, and finishing tips

Held indoors during the winter season, this class provides a cozy, social setting where you can hone your skills while creating a hand-knit hat—the perfect project for cold weather.

Materials are not provided. Participants should bring the yarn, needles, and tools they are most comfortable using.

This program meets in person at the Arboretum.
