Do you have a go-to art form, but are curious about delving into another medium? In this intermediate to advanced nature art course, students will work with a different medium each week to capture the forms and textures of botanical subjects.
Inspired by specimens collected from the grounds of The Morton Arboretum, expand your art skills and learn various techniques for the following media:
- Graphite
- Graphite and watercolor
- Dry brush watercolor
- Gouache

Suzanne Wegener is a freelance artist specializing in natural history illustration and education in pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, and gouache. She has a degree in scientific illustration and teaches regularly in the Chicago area.
What to Know
This program meets indoors.
This is an intermediate to advanced program; foundational art skills are required.
Please bring a container or vase for live specimens, a kneaded eraser, and pallet for paint samples. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor.
