Make with Wood: Birdhouses (in person)

Build a home for backyard birds.

Content Detail

Use hand tools to assemble your own house for common Illinois backyard birds. You’ll also receive decorating and care tips to ensure that the birdhouse you build can provide a home for birds for a long time to come.

This drop-in program meets on-site at the Arboretum. Space is limited. Program tickets are available in the Children’s Garden for the day of your visit only. Tickets cannot be purchased over the phone, online, or for another day.

Instructor: Emilian Geczi

Health and Safety: Program participants must abide by the Arboretum’s health and safety guidelines. Guidelines are subject to change, so please check back frequently.

Age: Recommended for families with children aged 4 and older.

Emilian Geczi, PhD, manages the Arboretum’s early childhood and family programs, and he enjoys sharing the wonders of trees and nature with family program participants and Children’s Garden visitors.
