Garden Friends (in person)

Plant a seed and explore the garden in this four-week outdoor adventure at The Morton Arboretum for children ages 18 to 35 months.

Content Detail

In this four-week outdoor adventure in the Children’s Garden, young explorers will dig in the dirt, plant seeds, play, and hike while learning about nature around us. Adults will receive tips to continue the exploration at home.

Instructor: Kathryn Neuffer

Health and Safety: Program participants must abide by the Arboretum’s health and safety guidelines. Guidelines are subject to change, so please check back frequently.

Age: Children ages 18 to 35 months. An adult must accompany the child.

Kathryn Neuffer has a background in early childhood and special education. She enjoys introducing the Arboretum’s youngest visitors to the wonders of the outdoors and helping to increase children’s curiosity toward the natural world through play and hands-on experiences.

What to Know

Dress for the weather in shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
