Butterfly Beginnings

Virtual teachers’ program sprouts student scientists

Content Detail

The Morton Arboretum invites pre-K through second-grade teachers to bring the outdoors indoors! Discover implementable activities about butterflies to help connect students to the green spaces in their communities. We will highlight activities that incorporate monarch butterflies, and offer resources, games, and activities to do outdoors at home and in the classroom. Explore the use of structured and unstructured play effectively as you learn the teacher’s role in nature-based education. This virtual program will be offered via Zoom, with opportunities to test activities outdoors, so wear comfortable shoes and prepare to spend some time on your patio, backyard, or front porch.
