Beginner’s Drawing Workshop

Tap into your creative side with an introductory workshop on drawing nature.

Content Detail

Get a brief overview of drawing fundamentals, such as basic pencil strokes and how to use shading to add dimension. Then, work on your own graphite drawing under the encouraging guidance of your instructor. This art workshop is a fun and popular program that will help you get started drawing nature. No experience is necessary. 

All drawing supplies and botanical specimens will be provided for in-class use.

This program meets on-site at the Arboretum.

With a BS in ornamental horticulture and a lifetime of art classes, Kathy Steere was thrilled when she discovered botanical art. She is comfortable with different styles, many mediums, and assorted subject matter. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with others and believes that art should be fun!

What to Know

No experience necessary; all levels welcome.
